Why Choose Us

Our camp in Iquique is unparalleled, offering optimal flying conditions, experienced instructors like François and Loraine, and a personalised approach with small group sizes. Our commitment is to your growth and enjoyment in paragliding. Our camp is designed for absolute beginners, transforming you into a confident pilot quicker than you’d imagine. You’ll leave not only with your own complete set of flying gear but also the skills to continue soaring in the skies.

License

We provide the APPI level certification, recognised internationally, typically enabling you to achieve level 3, equivalent to FAI – IPPI 3 or BHPA Pilot rating. For those from countries with specific licensing requirements, we offer detailed certification of your camp activities to facilitate obtaining your local flying license. The BHPA (British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association) has its own structured system primarily used in the UK. Comparing the two systems:

  • APPI 1 and 2 equate to the BHPA’s Elementary Pilot and Club Pilot levels, respectively, focusing on basic skills and safety.
  • APPI 3 aligns with the BHPA Pilot rating, emphasising more advanced flying skills and cross-country flying.
  • APPI 4 and above correspond to the BHPA Advanced Pilot and beyond, where pilots demonstrate high skill levels in various flying conditions and environments.

We have had multiple students achieve an APPI 4 rating in the course, but most reach APPI 3 level.

You need to make a booking on this page and then you will be sent François’ number to check your suitability. He will then send you a link to pay the deposit through. A deposit of 30% of the total trip cost is required to confirm the booking. The remaining balance must be paid 45 days prior to the holiday departure.

The trip cost does not cover any form of insurance, including repatriation or cancellation insurance. Clients are required to obtain repatriation insurance. We highly recommend securing cancellation insurance as well. Before registering, participants should verify their existing coverage for these risks. Participants have the option to subscribe to insurance through our partner, offering: Assistance Insurance: This covers repatriation, rescue, and search expenses and costs 2.4% of the trip’s price. Cancellation Insurance: This covers trip cancellation and luggage loss, costing 3.9% of the trip’s price. Purchasing both policies provides coverage for trip interruption. We can help your organise this once you book. Note: These insurance options are available only to residents of Western Europe or the French overseas departments. Your primary residence must be in one of these regions and should be the address listed on your income tax notice. Western Europe includes: United Kingdom, Germany, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Metropolitan France, Gibraltar, Greece, Ireland, Italy and its islands, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Sweden, and Switzerland. The French overseas departments (DOM) include Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Mayotte, and Réunion. If a client opts out of our repatriation insurance, they must provide a certificate from their own insurance detailing the maximum coverage amount for evacuation expenses.

While paragliding is our main focus, Iquique offers a range of activities to explore in your free time. It is a small city of around 200,000 people with all the amenities you would expect.

The Flight Park has a kitchen, with local markets, supermarkets, and restaurants nearby, plus options for food delivery.

Iquique airport is just a 30-minute drive from the city, with easy access to the camp.

Extras / Options

Our comprehensive flying kit includes: a glider, harness, rescue parachute, helmet, and radio. We believe in empowering you with personal gear right from the start, rather than renting it, to ensure you can spread your own wings post-camp.
