## FAQs

### What is 'Skippered Charter'?

A skippered charter is a yacht rental with a professional skipper and crew. Our experienced team handles the yacht's operation while ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable time for all guests.

### How do I know the yacht will be in good condition?

We strictly follow local maritime laws and regulations, which provide robust safety measures. Additionally, we carry public liability insurance for extra peace of mind. Our reputation speaks for itself, with a strong history of satisfied guests. Our yachts are consistently clean, well-maintained, and in excellent condition to ensure a safe and pleasant outing.

### Is there a minimum/maximum age limit?

No. Our yachts welcome guests of all ages, making them ideal for family charters, including children and older passengers. We don’t have any set age restrictions but do require an adult to accompany anyone under 18. The crew is not responsible for childminding or babysitting during the charter.

### Do I need to tip the skipper/crew?

Tipping is completely optional. Should you choose to tip the skipper and crew for their professional and attentive service (which we are confident you will appreciate), the customary rate is 5-15% of the total charter cost. For day trips, we typically receive £10 per person, and on sailing holidays, around 10%. Tips should be given to the skipper, who will distribute them equally among the crew.

### What is the duration?

The Caribbean can be flexible, and generally start as 7 days although most guests sail with us for 12-14 days.

### What should I bring?

Some items which are worth considering are: layers of light clothing such as shorts, tops, skirts, sun hats or caps, sandals, trainers or sneakers or soft soled athletic shoes, swimwear and warmer clothing for the evenings. In the evening, during our holidays, more “smart casual” clothing, such as skirts, trousers and collared shirts are a good idea. Remember to bring any personal items on your sailing holiday, such as passports and visas as well as medication or personal sport equipment. Softer luggage is ideal for fitting into cabin lockers and is generally more practical on a yacht.
