## What’s included / kit / extras (plain text excerpts)

### Highlights
Stand on Mount Toubkal at 4,167 metres, the highest point in North Africa Two-day format with Marrakech hotel or riad pickup and drop-off Overnight at Toubkal Refuge with meals and mule support for main bags Walk through Berber villages, terraces and alpine terrain above Imlil Guided by local mountain guides used to High Atlas conditions 🗺️ Trip / Itinerary Overview This short High Atlas adventure is built for travellers who want a real summit without a long expedition. After an early transfer from Marrakech to Imlil, you meet your guide and mule team and climb through villages and valleys toward the Toubkal Refuge. The next morning starts before dawn for the push to 4,167 metres, then a long descent back to Imlil and a late-afternoon return to the city. Expect full mountain days, changing scenery from walnut groves to rocky alpine slopes, and a shared refuge night that sets you up for the summit. The pace is purposeful but guided, with time to rest, hydrate and take in the views when the trail allows. ✨ Why Choose Us Local mountain guides know these trails through every season and manage the day around weather, group pace and safe summit timing. Mule support keeps your walk focused on the path rather than heavy bags, while meals and refuge logistics are organised so you can concentrate on the climb. The weekend format is designed to feel complete: city pickup, a genuine high overnight, a proper summit attempt and a return to Marrakech the same trip. Support stays practical and personal from the first meet-up to the final drop-off.

## FAQs

### Where do we meet?

You are picked up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Many riads sit on pedestrian streets, so the driver parks nearby and meets you at a convenient point. At the end of day two you are dropped back at the nearest accessible point to your accommodation. Same-day Menara Airport pickup can be arranged when your arrival timing matches the trek start.

### How fit do I need to be?

You should be comfortable walking steep mountain trails for several hours with a daypack. Summit day is long, with a large elevation gain before a sustained descent. Previous hiking experience helps, especially on rocky ground at altitude. If you are unsure, share recent walking experience with the team before you book.

### What is the sleeping arrangement?

Night one is at the Toubkal Refuge near 3,207 metres. Expect shared mountain-refuge facilities rather than a hotel room. Bring a season-appropriate sleeping bag, warm layers and a headlamp. The overnight sets you up for an early summit start the next morning.

### What meals are included?

Meals on the hike are included: lunch and dinner on day one, then breakfast and lunch on day two. Share dietary needs and allergies when you enquire so the cook can plan accordingly. Soft drinks and alcohol are not included.

### Do mules carry our bags?

Yes. Mules and muleteers carry main luggage between Imlil and the refuge so you walk with a lighter daypack. Keep water, spare layers, snacks, camera and any medication in the bag you carry yourself, as you will not have access to the mule loads until you reach the overnight stop.

### What kit should I bring?

Sturdy walking boots, warm layers, waterproofs, a sleeping bag suited to the season, water bottle or hydration pack, sunglasses, sunscreen, headlamp and a small first aid kit. A soft-sided bag for mule loads and a lightweight daypack for the trail complete the basics. The team can advise on seasonal extras such as crampons in winter.

### Is a passport required?

Yes. A passport is required for mountain checkpoints on this route. Bring the original or a clear copy as advised when you confirm. Keep it somewhere dry and easy to reach when the guide asks for it at the checkpoint.

### Is travel insurance required?

Travel insurance is not included and is strongly recommended, covering hiking at altitude and mountain rescue where possible. Check that your policy covers activities up to around 4,200 metres and walking on steep rocky terrain.

### Can solo travellers join?

Yes. Solo travellers, couples, families and larger groups can join, subject to availability and the product group size. Share your preferred dates with the team so they can confirm guide and refuge logistics.

### What happens if the weather turns?

If severe weather or unsafe mountain conditions develop, the team may modify or postpone the itinerary for safety. The team will be in touch as soon as decisions are clear and will explain the options available for your departure.
