## FAQs

### What level of fitness is required?

While a basic level of fitness is recommended, participants should be comfortable with moderate walking and hiking for several hours each day. The trek includes some uphill and downhill sections, which can be challenging, especially at higher altitudes. Training in advance with regular walking or hiking can help prepare you for the journey.

### What type of accommodation is provided during the trek?

Accommodation during the trek is typically in local guesthouses in the Berber villages. These guesthouses offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere, providing a unique insight into the local culture. The rooms are generally shared, with basic amenities, including shared bathrooms. Your hosts will prepare traditional meals, allowing you to experience authentic Berber hospitality.

### What should I pack for the trek?

It is essential to pack appropriately for variable weather conditions in the mountains. Recommended items include: Sturdy hiking boots for rocky terrain Warm clothing layers for cooler evenings, including a fleece or down jacket Waterproof jacket and trousers in case of rain Sun protection items such as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen A refillable water bottle to stay hydrated A headlamp or flashlight for navigating in low-light conditions A small first aid kit with basic supplies

### Are meals included in the trekking package?

Yes, all meals during the trek are included in the package. You will enjoy traditional Berber cuisine prepared by a local cook, including hearty breakfasts, packed lunches, and warm dinners. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated with prior notice, so please inform us of any specific requirements using the contact details on your booking confirmation.

### How does luggage transport work?

Mules and muleteers are employed to carry your luggage throughout the trek. You will only need to carry a small daypack with personal items, such as water, snacks, and a camera. The muleteers will manage the logistics of transporting your main luggage between accommodation points, allowing you to fully enjoy the trekking experience without the burden of heavy bags.

### What if I experience altitude sickness?

Altitude sickness can occur at higher elevations, particularly for those who are not acclimatised. Symptoms may include headache, nausea, and dizziness. It is crucial to listen to your body and communicate any concerns to your guide immediately. They will be able to provide guidance and support, including descending to a lower altitude if necessary. Staying hydrated and ascending gradually can help minimise the risk of altitude sickness.
